Secure wireless routing for industrial remote access

The Westermo range of industrial wireless routers provides resilient remote access and eliminates the need for costly site visits. Whether you’re using a GPRS, 3G, EDGE, HSDPA or HSUPA connection, Westermo have a solution. With support for secure VPN communications, static and dynamic IP routing, NAT, port forwarding, OpenVPN (SSL VPN), and a stateful packet inspection firewall, the Westermo wireless mobile broadband routers provide secure, reliable communications.

Industrial remote access over the GSM network

For wireless data communications over the GSM network, Westermo have a range of industrial GSM / GPRS modems. Our GSM modems support Circuit Switched Data (CSD) connections and SMS messaging for alarm notifications. All of our GSM modems can also communicate via GPRS and have an embedded TCP/IP stack for connection to the Internet. With support for RS-232 or RS-485 connections, our industrial GSM modems are ideal for serial remote access connectivity.

How many times do you need to get a few points of digital or analog inputs and outputs from point A to point B, but just can’t justify the cost of running the wires? The Radio Kit is a replacement for hardwired I/O that is simple to deploy. The Kit requires no programming to set up – just wire strippers and a screwdriver. There is no communication protocol to interpret.The radios are paired and secured at the factory, so there are no settings or configurations to figure out. It is bi-directional, so digital and analog signals can be sent in both directions between two connected I/O stations. Inputs on one module are simply replicated as outputs on the corresponding module. Our wireless I/O makes use of the unlicensed ISM band at either 868 MHz, 900 MHz, or 2.4 GHz, with both US and International versions available. The radios can send I/O up to 4 miles for the 868 MHz and 2.4 GHz models. Each radio pair can connect up to 16 I/O modules, more than enough for most applications.
