Remote Access

PSTN, ISDN, ADSL, GSM, 3G, Wireless

PSTN products consist of modems that can be connected to the public telephone network.

ISDN: Compared to the PSTN-modems which are used on analogue lines the ISDN are used on digital telephone lines (Integrated Services Digital Network). The big advantage with ISDN is that it can be used for very fast communication, 64 Kbit/s on the line and a connect time of a few seconds.

ADSL routers offer high speed communications with support for Encrypted Virtual Private Networks.

GSM (Global System for Mobile communication) offers a natural and easy platform for wireless automation, much more flexible and easier solution than for example traditional radio modems.

3G (Third Generation) as apposed to 2G(GSM, GPRS) supports much higher bandwidth of up to 7.2mBit/s data downlink. The Westermo 3G Routers all support multiple functions including Firewalls, SNMP Management etc.

Wireless radios are available for use in both the 869 Mhz and WiFi 2,4GHz license free bands.

The Westermo radio modems are designed to very high standards to make them incredibly reliable.

The ability to create remote connections to equipment can provide companies great savings both in time and money. Not only this, but improved customer service can also be offered. It is possible to control, monitor, update software or fault find, irrespective of where the equipment is located, by means of a simple remote connection.

Being able to connect to a remote server whilst working from home or using a laptop PC when travelling makes for much more efficient and flexible working conditions for many support engineers.
