Connectivity methods using Secomea hardware

SiteManager Hardware

Secomea SiteManager hardware gateways are rugged aluminum devices designed with industrial specifications. They support all features required for operating as secure access gateways for industrial installations – from small machines to complete production lines and whole factories. All SiteManager hardware gateways are certified for global installations.

Flexible Connectivity

The SiteManager hardware gateways support remote access to any type of physical communication port of industrial devices. They also support multiple Internet access options via USB adapters. This means any SiteManager can obtain Internet access via LAN, cellular or WiFi networks.

Secure Communications Made Easy

Secomea NAT Solution

The Secomea device, in addition to all the remote assistance and data collection functions, is also able to function as a NAT router.

The built-in firewall, as a factory setting, completely isolates the IT and OT networks and does not allow any type of unwanted communication. In particular, it allows you to easily create NAT rules necessary for 4.0 applications to make the IT and OT networks communicate in a secure and controlled way. Only authorized devices will be able to pass data through the SiteManager firewall.

Secomea NAT Solution

Thanks to the Secomea NAT router it will be allowed to one or more PCs of the customer network (IT) (eg, MES; ERP, Management, File Server, Database ... ) to communicate with the OT part (e.g. with the PLC in a controlled and secure way) and vice versa:

  • the MES can connect to the PLC and read the data made available by the OEM in a PLC DB
  • the MES can communicate with the PLC via the OPC-UA protocol
  • the HMI can write a file .csv to a customer's File Server or read a file with recipes

Also through the NAT Secomea you can access one or more devices of the OT network to the internet in a controlled and secure way:

  • an Edge Gateway of the machine can connect to the internet to send data to the cloud
  • a PC of the machine network can download updates or antivirus signatures

"I agree, the potential of the Secomea router as a firewall / NAT device is remarkable: NAT, NAT 1:1, fully configurable port fowarding, routing rules and much more. In addition, thanks to the three LAN networks on separate subnets, routing or NAT rules can also be managed between different LAN interfaces, not just between WAN and LAN. this can help you avoid adding extra devices."
